Clare is from the UK, and joined the East London team as a Project Manager in July 2017.

Prior to joining Mzantsi Wakho, Clare worked as a Science Policy intern at the Royal Society in London, and a Manager at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, where she discovered her passion for healthcare research and policy work.

Clare gained extensive project management experience  working as an Account Manager in the Medical Communications Industry for 5 years, where she worked on a wide range of different health conditions and treatments. She has also worked as a research scientist with the Medical Research Council, UK. Clare holds a BSc and PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from University College London, UK.

During her time with the project team Clare aims to broaden her understanding of health research in a resource-limited setting, and gain a solid understanding of the challenges and rewards of fieldwork.
